Service Above Self. Right Here at Home.

For more than a century, Rotary has united leaders who believe lasting change begins with service. The Washington Rotary Club brings together business professionals, civic leaders, and neighbors dedicated to improving our community through meaningful projects, scholarships, youth leadership, and fellowship. Together, we're making a difference—one act of service at a time.

Our Story

More than a century ago, Chicago attorney Paul Harris believed that lasting change begins with people coming together in friendship and service. That vision led to the founding of Rotary International on February 23, 1905, and has since grown into a worldwide network of more than 1.4 million members united by a common purpose: Service Above Self.

That same spirit took root in Washington when the Washington Rotary Club was chartered on December 6, 1962. For more than six decades, our members have worked together to strengthen Washington and Wilkes County through scholarships, youth leadership, community partnerships, and hands-on service. While our projects have evolved over the years, our commitment has remained the same—to leave our community stronger than we found it.

To me, Rotary is about neighbors showing up for neighbors. It's a place where friendships become partnerships and ideas become action. Serving alongside people who genuinely care about Washington has been a great privilege.
